FIRST stands for “Firearm Instruction, Responsibility, and Safety Training”,
a program the NRA developed to meet the need for a firearms orientation program for new gun purchasers. This FIRST Steps program
is a 3-hour class for people with little or no experience with handguns. During this class, you will learn all the basics,
from firearm safety to the parts of a pistol, how they operate, and how to clean and care for a pistol. There is no range
time in this class.

Refuse to Be A Victim® was developed in 1993 in response to requests from women
nationwide for crime prevention seminars. In 1997 the program became co-ed. With over 1,500 instructors nationwide,
seminars have been presented in 48 states, the District of Columbia, Canada, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela. More than 36,000
women and men have benefited from the program's life-saving message.
Refuse To Be A Victim® seminars
promote awareness and prevention of criminal confrontation. Seminar topics include: home, automobile, phone, technological,
travel, and personal security. Seminar participants are presented with a variety of common-sense crime prevention
and personal safety strategies and devices they may integrate into their daily lives.
This confidential class
teaches easy-to-understand tactics you can use to prevent criminal confrontation. In just three hours, you will get the tools
you need to develop your own personal safety strategy, including information about: The Psychology of the Criminal MindHome
& Phone SecurityAutomobile & Travel SecurityPersonal SecuritySelf-Defense Tools and Training Options

These classes are the next logical step for the concealed
carry student who wishes to hone the skills he was taught in the basic class. Both these classes will build confidence and will
prepare you for more advanced classes with Massad Ayoob's Lethal Force Institute, Front Sight Firearms Institute or
any of the other big-name self-defense schools.
Beyond Basic CPL "Tactical Marksmanship" - This is
an 8-hour class designed to teach you the basics of shooting while under stress. We'll cover proper stances, point shooting,
sight shooting, drawing from concealment, and tactical reloads. We'll finish out the class with a police style qualification
course shooting from 7, 10, and 15 yards at IPSC silhouettes. This class is designed to tighten your group and help you
develop the marksmanship skills necessary to take our "Move, Shoot, and Live" class.
Beyond Basic CPL "Move, Shoot and Live" - This is an 8-hour class designed to teach you the tactical
skills to safely move while shooting during a firefight. In this class, we focus
on "Move, Shoot, and Live" tactics. This is a 1-day class composed of 3 hours class time and 5 hours range time.
We take breaks from practicing more advanced shooting tactics to view excerpts from video tapes and to simulate likely self-defense
scenarios. You will be shooting a combat course, learning weapons retention and disarmament tactics, some hand-to-hand combat,
shooting at moving targets, advanced use of cover, simulating an attack using airsoft pistols, penetration testing with
your own self-defense rounds, and shooting in low-light conditions.

Excerpt from Skip Coryell's book "Blood in the Streets":

“I
can teach you that the three main parts of a pistol are the frame, the barrel and the action. I can teach you that
the parts of a pistol cartridge are the projectile, the casing, the propellant, and the primer. But none of those things
will keep you alive in a gunfight or keep you out of the court system. So today I’m going to focus on teaching
you how to stay alive and how to stay out of jail.”
