Skip Coryell has seven years experience as a personal protection instructor and has taught approximately 1,000 students to safely and effectively carry a concealed pistol for personal protection. Skip is a popular public speaker for schools, churches, outdoor and Second Amendment groups. He is the author of six published books including the personal defense book titled Blood in the Streets: Concealed Carry and the OK Corral. He has also written the pro-Second Amendment thriller We Hold These Truths and the action adventure Bond of Unseen Blood. Skip is the former State Director of Ted Nugent United Sportsmen of America and is now their Chief Pistol Instructor. He is a member of Michigan Coalition for Responsible Gun Owners, teaching their State Legislator's Concealed Pistol class in Lansing. Skip's articles and commentaries routinely appear in MCRGO's On Target magazine as well as in their weekly Enews publication. Skip lives in Michigan and is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
With over 35 years of practical handgun experience and his unique no-nonsense approach to teaching, Larry Jackson is a valuable addition to the Midwest Tactical team. Larry is a certified NRA Instructor and the co-owner of Midwest Tactical Training. Larry is the primary driver behind all business aspects of MWTAC. He is the Lead Instructor for Basic Pistol First Steps and for Refuse to be a Victim classes. He is certified by the NRA to teach Basic Pistol, Home Firearm Safety, Refuse to be a Victim, Rifle and Shotgun, and Personal Protection in the Home. He is also a certified Range Safety Officer.
Dar Leaf is the Sheriff of Barry County, and, quite possibly the most pro-Second Amendment Sheriff in the state. Dar brings 20 years of law enforcement experience to the MWTAC team. He is the primary instructor for use of deadly force and for the legal portion of our classes. He also teaches weapons retention, hand-to-hand techniques, and tactical knife defense. Dar is a Black Belt Karate Instructor and a former national Champion. He is also on the MCRGO Board of Directors.
